Incredibly Frustrating Bugs

Post by Kheighnigh »

I'm using the latest version of QuArK to make maps for SoF1. HOWEVER!
I can't select multiple entities, and dragging my cursor on the map so that I can select multiple tiles causes me to get an error. "Global name "plugins" is not defined". This always happens, this has happened since the beginning.
I'm getting trolled.
:shake:
Afterwards, for some reason all of my tiles that I'm trying to modify are "invalid polyhedrons", however they're normal cubes and rectangles. They shouldn't do this!
This happens after I copy worldspawn, drag everything from the second worldspawn group into the main worldspawn group and rotate it, then I delete the second worldspawn group. This caused for some reason all of the tiles to be called invalid, but they compile fine! Anything I spawn in is apparently invalid but they're compiled just OK!

I don't know what to do! I can still work with this, but I'll have to click on "No" every time I move a tile around.

Still a better map editor than Hammer.

Is this from an existing file in .qkm? Which is the intended file format to work on. Quark may not be as reliable when working on a .map file for instance. Also, there should be only one worldspawn as I have always been told. There's an icon specific for making groups of polys.

Hello Acadie!

Yes, this map has been made from scratch using the .qkm format.

Since QuArK doesn't allow me to select multiple tiles at once, even from the list on the left, I was forced to copy worldspawn, rotate everything 180 degrees to create a symmetric map, copy everything from the previous worldspawn and paste it into the original, and then delete the second. That way, I don't have a second worldspawn, and everything's okay. Well, fast forward a few hours later while I'm adding details to the map and fixing a few issues, apparently every tile that I have spawned is, according to QuArK, invalid, although it isn't. No matter what I do (spawn in a cube, stretch out the walls a little, even moving them) causes the polyhedrons to become invalid. This is not true. The map compiles and loads in perfectly every time. This is a fake error message, however, it slows things down to a painful halt because every time I make the slightest change, I have to click "no" so as not to revert the changes.

Thank you so much for your reply, though.

Are you trying to make any kind of Terrain in this map?

By the way if you want to move multipes of anything in Quark use a func_group entitie, just dump what you want to move in there and delete the ploy they put in it.

I haven't used the Terrain tool, no.

The func_group entity worked, thanks, however I still can't change the polys without issues! And sometimes QuArK crashes, too.

When you are talking about tiles are you talking about the sides of the ploy?

Hello! Sorry, I was on vacation. Yes, the sides of the poly.
