For the windows 8 (and 7)users, how to properly install the original sof game (non-community version)
- Install SoF regularly (via the original setup)
- Go to your sofdirectory and make an user folder manually
SoF directory is usually C:/program files(x86)/Raven/SoF Platinum
To make a new map: right click > new > new folder (name it user)

- Extract the downloaded file (ref_gl_fixed.zip)
Right click on the file > extract here
Adding the console (toggle by hitting Esc in the homescreen or ~ in game):
- Go to your SoF directory
SUsually C:/program files(x86)/Raven/SoF Platinum
- Find a file called SoF.exe
Usually displayed as ''SoF''
- Create a shortcut for it
Right click on SoF.exe > create shortcut or right click on SoF.exe > copy to > Desktop
- add ''+ set console 1'' to the Target line
Right click on the shortcut > Properties > There's a line called Target whcih you can edit > add + set console 1 (outside the quotations) > Click apply
- Copy the shortcut to the location you want to start SoF from. The console will only work when you start it from this shortcut.
Get full screen
When you've just installed SoF the game might start in a minimized screen. To solve this you can do two things:
1. Enlarge the resolution via the graphics options tab in SoF
2. Add "set vid_fullscreen "1" to your autoexec or type it in console each time you start SoF
If both options don't work there's a 3rd very annoying way
3. Resize your desktop resolution to the resolution you use in SoF.
